I see "Reconciliation could not be completed" — what should I do?

Last updated on Apr 14, 2026

Short Answer: Click "Run reconciliation again". If it still fails, check uploaded files or contact support (the error banner advises these steps).

PreRequisites

  1. You can open the report and see the error banner.

  2. You have the ability to re-run the reconciliation.

Steps

  1. Read the error banner on the report page which states: "Reconciliation could not be completed. We couldn't finish this reconciliation due to a temporary issue. Please try running it again. If the issue persists, please check your uploaded files or contact support."
    You understand the recommended actions.

  2. Click the "Run reconciliation again" button in the error message.
    A new reconciliation attempt starts.

  3. If the run fails again, verify your uploaded 26AS and Books files for completeness and correct format.
Identify and correct file issues if any.

  4. If problems persist after verifying files, contact support and provide the Recon ID shown at the top-right of the report.
Support can use the Recon ID to investigate.

Troubleshooting

  1. Error persists after multiple reruns.
Likely Cause: Problem in uploaded files or a backend issue.
Action: Check file contents and formatting, re-upload if needed, then rerun. If still failing, escalate to support with the Recon ID.

Note: Keep the Recon ID handy (top-right) when contacting support to speed up troubleshooting.
