How do I upload a Books / Books of accounts file?

Short Answer: Drag & drop your file into the ‘Books / Books of accounts’ box or click ‘Upload file’ and select a CSV, XLS, or XLSX file (≤ 10MB).

PreRequisites

1. Be signed in to CleverBalance

2. Have the Books file in CSV, XLS, or XLSX format

3. Ensure the file size is 10MB or smaller

Steps

1. Locate the upload section.
   On the New reconciliation page, find the ‘Books / Books of accounts’ upload box.

2. Upload the file.
   Drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click ‘Upload file’ to open the file picker.

3. Select and confirm the file.
   Choose a valid CSV, XLS, or XLSX file (≤ 10MB).
   The file will appear attached in the upload area.

4. Verify format if needed.
   Click ‘View sample data format’ to check the expected structure and compare it with your file.

Troubleshooting

1. File is not accepted
   Likely Cause: Unsupported format or file size exceeds 10MB
   Action: Convert the file to CSV/XLS/XLSX and ensure it is within size limits

2. Upload is slow or stuck
   Likely Cause: Network or browser issue
   Action: Retry the upload or switch to a different browser or device
