What do the Report access options Private and Public mean?

Short Answer: Private: Only team members can view this report. Public: Anyone with the link can view the report with no login required.

Steps

  1. Open the Share this report modal and locate the Report access section.
    You see the radio options Private and Public with their descriptions.

  2. Read the descriptions: Private — Only team members can view this report; Public — Anyone with the link can view. No login required.
    You understand the visibility and sign-in requirements for each option.

Troubleshooting

  1. Someone without an account cannot view the report despite receiving the link.
    LikelyCause: Report is set to Private (Only team members can view this report.)
    Action: Either add the person to People with access or change Report access to Public and click Save.
