My file upload failed because of format or size — how do I fix it?

Short Answer: Ensure your file is CSV, XLS, or XLSX and ≤ 10MB; convert or split the file as needed, then upload again.

PreRequisites

  1. Access to a spreadsheet editor (Excel, Google Sheets)

Steps

  1. On the 'New reconciliation' page, confirm the requirements:
    Supported formats: CSV, XLS, XLSX
    Maximum file size: 10MB

  2. If the format is unsupported, open the file in Excel or Sheets and save/export it as CSV, XLS, or XLSX.
You now have a file in a supported format.

  3. If the file size is greater than 10MB, reduce it by:

  • Removing unused rows or columns

  • Deleting extra sheets or formatting

  • Splitting the file into smaller parts

File size is reduced to ≤ 10MB.

  1. Upload the corrected file using drag & drop or the 'Upload file' button.
File uploads successfully and appears in the panel.

Troubleshooting

  1. File still rejected after conversion.
LikelyCause: Hidden formatting or incompatible content remains.
Action: Copy only the raw data into a new spreadsheet, save as CSV/XLSX, and upload that file.

  2. Multiple split files — unsure which to upload.
LikelyCause: Reconciliation expects a single file.
Action: Combine required rows into one file under 10MB, or check 'View sample data format' to confirm expected structure.

Note: Keep files clean and minimal (only required columns) to avoid upload and mapping issues.
