How do I change the report access to Public or Private?

Short Answer: In 'Share this report', select 'Private' or 'Public' under 'Report access', then click 'Save'.

PreRequisites

  1. You are signed in

  2. You have permission to change report access

Steps

  1. Open the 'Share this report' dialog.
    The 'Report access' section is visible.

  2. Under 'Report access', choose:

  • PrivateOnly team members can view this report

  • PublicAnyone with the link can view. No login required

The selected option is highlighted.

  1. If you selected Public, click 'Copy link' to get a shareable URL.
    The link is copied to your clipboard.

  2. Click 'Save' to apply the access change.
    The new access setting takes effect.

  3. (Optional) Verify the setting by opening the link in an incognito window.
    Public links open without login; Private links require access.

Troubleshooting

  1. Link still requires login after selecting Public.
    LikelyCause: Changes were not saved.
    Action: Select Public, click Save, then copy and test the link again.

  2. Unable to change access (option disabled or reverts).
    LikelyCause: Insufficient permissions.
    Action: Ask the Owner listed under 'People with access' to update access.

Note: Use Private for controlled sharing within your team and Public when you want anyone with the link to view the report.
