Short Answer: Open the issue and use the "Assignee" dropdown in the right panel to pick a user; a confirmation appears and the change is recorded in History.
PreRequisites
-
Be signed in.
-
The assignee must be a team member with access to the repo/review.
Steps
-
Open the issue page where the right panel is visible.
The right panel shows fields including "Assignee". -
Click the "Assignee" dropdown (it shows "Unassigned" when no one is assigned).
The dropdown expands with available assignees. -
Select the teammate you want to assign.
The "Assignee" field updates to the selected person. -
Look for the on-screen confirmation (toast) and check "History" for the assignment event.
A toast like "Assigned to Bob Smith" appears and History logs the assignment.
Troubleshooting
-
The teammate does not appear in the Assignee list.
Likely Cause: They may not have access to the repository or review.
Action: Ask your team admin to grant repo/review access so the teammate appears in the assignee dropdown.
-
The Assignee dropdown is unresponsive.
Likely Cause: You are not signed in, or browser extensions are blocking site scripts.
Action: Sign in (see screen_6.png) and/or disable script-blocking extensions, then reload the page.
Note: A History entry is created whenever an assignment is made, visible in the "History" card on the issue page.
